Comet NEOWISE Heads for Bed. This night (July 28, 2020) was the last time I was able to capture photos of Mr. NEOWISE. The moon was half full, and for about the next 10 days the sky was too bright with moonlight to get a good view or photo of our celestial pal. And then after that, he was so dim, and the smoke from Arizona and California wildfires was so thick, that I was unable to find him at all.
But on this evening, our comet buddy was just getting comfortable in the Gunsight, as this gap in our local red rock cliffs is called, to catch some Z’s before continuing his journey to the nether reaches of our humble little solar system.
